The Process – What to expect at Riverpoint Law

Riverpoint Law does not charge for initial consultations. If you wish to schedule a consultation with a personal injury attorney, please use the SCHEDULE A CONSULTATION link here. During our initial consultation phone call, we will inform a potential client that there are likely critical time limits on their claim. The potential client should be careful not to wait too long before hiring an attorney, even if the attorney is not with Riverpoint Law. Next, we will have the client describe the nature of the incident and the injuries involved. We will talk about the parties involved; including auto insurance, health insurance, or liable parties. At the end of the free consultation, the client and the attorney will discuss whether representation at Riverpoint Law is a good fit.

When a potential client hires Riverpoint Law, the attorney and client will sign an engagement letter. At this point, the attorney at Riverpoint Law will begin representation. At all times, the attorney will be aware of important time limits like the statute of limitations and inform the client if action needs to be taken before these important deadlines. More often than not, the claim settles before the statute of limitations, but the client needs to be aware of this deadline and other important deadlines.

Usually (unless the injuries are severe), the claim will settle after the client is fully done with treatment but before the critical time limits. During treatment, the client will supply to the attorney all wage loss information, medical records, medical bills, and other loss information.

The client and personal injury attorney will be in contact during the entire process and the attorney or other staff will help the client to get the necessary documents gathered. When the client is done with treatment, the attorney will begin negotiations with the liable parties, insurance companies, and health providers

More often than not, a claim will resolve to a reasonable settlement without the need for litigation. If litigation is necessary, Riverpoint Law will speak with the client about this possibility and help the client weigh the pros and cons of the next steps in their claim.
